概要 | Methods:
After filling a sweat capsule with 10% acetylcholine (Ach), Ach was infiltrated into the skin by iontophoresis (current application at 2 mA for 5 min). Then, sweat gland function was assessed according to the amount of sweat produced within the sweat capsule. Iontophoresis was performed at two locations: a non-sweating area (disabled skin area) during daily exercise and a non-disabled skin area. Results: The sweat rate in the non-disabled skin area was within the normal range for all para-athletes, regardless of injury history, and the sweating reaction (muscarinic effect) was confirmed by palpation. Meanwhile, sweating was observed at the disabled skin area in para-athletes with a relatively short injury history, but no sweating response was observed in para-athletes with a past history of more than 20 years. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that the decline in sweat gland function caused by various injuries may be related to the length of the past history. |
