概要 | This study reconfirmed that there is social projection(SP) to out-groups, as well as SP to in-groups in order to reinforce the validity of one’s opinion. The results of the questionnaire showed that students overestimated consensus of opinions toward working adults(out-group members) when they considered social issues. Also, they overestimated their consensus of opinions toward other students of the same department(in-group members) when they think about student life. We concluded that people project themselves to the more relevant group members and the involvement toward the opinion was more important than social category. Therefore, we proposed that there is a self-protective function of SP which people use in order to reinforce the validity of one’s opinion. |
